You tell us what to buy. We buy it, anywhere in Iraq.
Shalyar's trading division is a buying desk. Send us what you need: a list, a photograph, a part number, or just a description of the job. We find it, price it, inspect it and deliver it. If it is legal to trade in Iraq, it is in scope.
Buying is rarely a catalogue problem. It is a time problem. Somebody has to find a supplier who genuinely holds the goods, confirm they are what was claimed, argue the price to something fair, arrange the transport, and carry the risk when one of those four goes wrong. Shalyar does that work as a service, on your behalf and in your name.
The remit is deliberately wide. Food, packaging and kitchen equipment are where the company started, but the desk buys whatever a business legitimately needs: furniture and fit-out materials, office and IT equipment, generators and spare parts, building materials, cleaning and hygiene supplies, textiles, tools and consumables. Anything legal is in scope. Anything restricted, licensed or controlled we flag before it reaches a quote, never after it arrives.
And we buy inside Iraq. That is a decision, not a limitation. A domestic buying desk lives on knowing which supplier in Erbil is actually holding stock this week, what a fair price looks like in Baghdad, and which route between the two is worth using today. That is knowledge no foreign catalogue carries. Every supplier is here, every inspection happens before the goods move, and every delivery is a domestic one.
A price means nothing until the goods are in front of you. We collect from the supplier, consolidate the order and run it to your door, from Erbil to Basra and Duhok to Najaf, on our own schedule, with one delivery note and one invoice at the end of it. Nothing crosses a border, so nothing sits at one.
These are the categories the desk handles most often. They are examples, not limits. The honest answer to “do you buy this?” is almost always yes.

Food & Beverage
Rice, flour, sugar, oils, pulses, dairy, chilled and frozen lines, water and soft drinks. By the case or by the pallet.

Fresh Produce
Fruit, vegetables, herbs and eggs bought on the day, graded before dispatch and moved cold where the load calls for it.

Packaging & Disposables
Takeaway boxes, cups, bags, films, labels and branded print, plus the service disposables that run out first.

Kitchen & Catering Equipment
Cooking lines, refrigeration, preparation benches, warewashing and smallwares, with installation arranged where it is needed.

Furniture & Fit-Out
Tables, seating, shelving, counters, shopfitting materials, lighting and the finishing trades that go with them.

Electronics & IT
Computers, printers, POS terminals, screens, networking, cameras and the accessories nobody remembers to order.

Building Materials & Tools
Cement, steel, timber, tiles, paint, plumbing and electrical fittings, hand tools and power tools.

Generators & Spare Parts
Generators, pumps, motors, filters, belts, bearings and consumable parts, quoted against a part number, not a guess.

Cleaning & Hygiene
Detergents, sanitisers, paper goods, uniforms, gloves and the personal protective equipment a site is inspected on.
We buy what a business can lawfully own and lawfully move inside Iraq. Where an item needs a licence, a permit or an end-user certificate, we tell you what is required and buy it once the paperwork is in place, not before. Where an item is prohibited outright, we decline and say why, the same day we are asked. There is no version of this where goods arrive and the paperwork turns out to be somebody else's problem.
Buying on Request
Send a list, a photograph or a part number. We source it, quote it and purchase it on your behalf, a single item or a standing order.
Anything Legal
Food, equipment, furniture, electronics, building materials, spare parts, textiles, consumables. If the law allows it, we will buy it.
Supplier Sourcing & Vetting
We find who genuinely holds the stock, check registration and track record, and compare on grade, price and lead time before anything is committed.
Negotiation & Landed Price
We negotiate as a repeat buyer rather than a stranger, and quote one landed figure in IQD with transport and handling already inside it.
Inspection Before Dispatch
Count, grade, condition, expiry and packaging checked against the written specification before goods leave the supplier's hands.
Delivery Across Iraq
Collection, consolidation and delivery to your door in any governorate, north to south, on a scheduled run and under one delivery note.
The point of a buying desk is that the work of finding, checking and moving the goods stops being yours. What stays yours is the yes.
- 01
Tell us what you need
A list, a photograph, a part number, or a description of the job it has to do. Add the quantity, where it has to arrive and by when. If the specification is not clear yet, we write it with you before anyone is asked for a price.
- 02
We source and quote
We go to the suppliers who actually hold it, compare on grade, price and lead time, and come back with one written landed figure in IQD, transport and handling already inside it. Typically within 24 to 48 hours.
- 03
You approve, we buy
Nothing is committed until you have said yes to both the specification and the figure. Then we purchase on your behalf and inspect the goods for count, grade, condition, expiry and packaging before they leave the supplier.
- 04
Delivered and invoiced
We consolidate the order and run it to your door, anywhere in Iraq. However many suppliers stood behind it, you receive one delivery note and one invoice.
Every supplier we buy from and every address we deliver to is inside the country. Nothing crosses a border, so nothing sits at one.
Domestic-only is what makes the desk fast. There is no customs file, no foreign bank instruction, no container waiting on a clearance nobody can put a date on. A purchase agreed on Sunday is a purchase that can move on Monday.
It is also what keeps the pricing honest. We buy in the same market you do, in the same currency, from suppliers we will have to face again next month, a better guarantee of a fair price than any procurement policy on paper.
